200

I like a challange and I always get good experience by doing personal projects. I’ve often wondered how man (good) street portraits I could do in a day. 50? 70? 100 even? Back in 2014, Norway marked the 200th anniversary for its constitution law. I decided to visit the town where I grew up with my camera to mark the event. When I was a child the most exotic person there was my friend’s mum from Denmark. Today it is slighlty more mixed. In a way it represents a typical Norwegian town near a city. I thought a good way to mark the 200th anniversay was to photograph 200 random people over the last two days before the celebration of the 200th constituion day. A slice of Norway so to speak. Over two days I put my most comfortable shoes on and walked the streets approaching everyone I saw to ask if I could take their picture. In addition to the photo I got their name, age and a word they think describes Norway today. It was exhausting but close to midnight on the second day I had photographed 200 people. Some of them are presented here.
